I’m Gurjot, a science educator and SAT/PSAT tutor with over ten years of experience in advanced biology, chemistry, and evidence-based academic coaching. I have helped dozens of students go from struggling every day in class to being thrilled and confident in their skills. I’ve completed my Master of Health Science in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where my work bridges molecular research, public health policy, and student-centered mentorship.

My academic background includes a B.S. in Molecular & Cellular Biology from Johns Hopkins University and extensive research experience across oncology, viral biology, and genome engineering. Over the years, I’ve worked on projects ranging from triple-negative breast cancer signaling pathways to CRISPR-based melanoma studies and viral genome engineering. This depth of scientific training allows me to explain complex concepts clearly, patiently, and intuitively—whether a student is preparing for the SAT, strengthening foundational chemistry skills, or mastering New York Regents material.

Beyond the lab, I’ve served as a public health advocate with the Baltimore County Department of Health, collaborated with city leadership on legislation to improve healthcare access, and worked as an AmeriCorps VISTA supporting students facing food and healthcare insecurity. My experiences as an EMT and firefighter have further shaped my commitment to service, communication, and supporting people under pressure—all traits I bring to my tutoring style.
